This course is designed for participants who speak a language other than English and are not confident with understanding, speaking and writing English in a classroom setting. It is also suitable for participants attending a course for the first time.

All our ESL friendly First Aid courses are offered in a comfortable environment with one on one time offered to cover the First Aid material provided, equipping participants with the necessary skills, knowledge and confidence required to provide a first aid response in a range of situations, including community, workplace settings to families and children.

First Aid Training Content

Topics include:

• Management of conscious or unconscious patients
• Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation on Adults and Babies
• External bleeding – trauma and shock
• Respiratory emergencies
• Cardiac emergencies
• Fractures, dislocations and soft tissue injuries
• Head neck and spinal injuries
• Diabetes
• Anaphylaxis
• Seizures / convulsions
• Envenomation, poisoning bites and stings
• Burns
• Hypothermia
• Heat Stroke
• Crush Injuries
• Monitor the condition of the victim
• Follow relevant procedures for recording first aid
• Detail the victims condition & the techniques applied
• Calling Emergency Services

Our course is flexible in delivery and we provide theory-based reading booklet (Learner Guide) to be studied by participants prior to the practise session. We anticipate the pre-learning required may take 8 hours depending on the learning abilities of individual participants.

To ensure the integrity of our assessment process there is no online assessment completed, however, written assessment and progressive assessments will take place during the practical sessions. Assessments cover all the required topics learnt throughout the day.

**Please note it is a requirement of this course that all participants must undertake a practical demonstration of CPR on the floor on an adult and infant manikin for 2 minutes. **

The course is delivered on most locations from 9:00am to 5:00pm plus arriving 15 minutes earlier for registration.
