HLTAID012 Provide First Aid in an education and care setting replaces the old HTLAID004 Provide an Emergency First Aid Response in an Education and Care Setting as the newest accredited childcare course on the market.
Childcare and education workers or anyone regularly around children and infants will find this unit and its contextualised content of great personal benefit.
The First Aid Course Tasmania offers this course with ALL of the topics of HLTAID011 Provide First Aid PLUS common infant and child conditions like fever, febrile convulsion, diarrhoea, dehydration and vomiting.
Because of its child-focused approach, HLTAID012 Provide First Aid in an education and care setting, is fully certified with the Australian Children’s Education and Care Quality Authority (ACECQA).
This accredited unit of competency may also contribute towards approved first aid, asthma and anaphylaxis training under the Education and Care Services National Law and the Education and Care Services National Regulations.
Knowledge Assessment online + Practical Assessment in class – shorter classes.
Learning Online is a contemporary course delivery strand that compounds the ease of online with the support of face-to-face training. Students completing the course elect to complete the knowledge assessment independently through their student portal before coming to class for a single 2-hour session to do the first aid practicals in a safe environment that mirrors the real world.
It rewards those who prefer the flexibility and freedom that comes with online study.

You will be issued your certificate of completion electronically once you have successfully completed the training course.
Your statement of attainment will include the following accredited units of competency:
HLTAID012 Provide first aid in an education and care setting
HLTAID011 Provide First Aid
HLTAID010 Provide basic emergency life support
HLTAID009 Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation
In line with Australian Resuscitation Council guidelines, HLTAID011 should be updated every 3 years and HLTAID009 every 12 months.
There must be evidence that the candidate has completed the following tasks in line with state/territory regulations, first aid codes of practice, first aid guidelines determined by the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) and other Australian national peak clinical bodies and workplace or site procedures:
managed, in line with ARC guidelines, the unconscious, non-breathing adult, including:

managed casualties, with the following:
