HLTAID014 Provide Advanced First Aid is the most advanced and comprehensive first aid qualification available for everyone.
First Aid Courses Tasmania is an Australian registered training organisation (RTO #40407) that is fully accredited to provide Advanced First Aid training. Our HLTAID014 Provide Advanced First Aid course provides full, nationally recognised certification. It follows the standards of the national peak clinical bodies – including Safe Work Australia, the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC), the National Asthma Council, the Australasian Society of Clinical Immunology and Allergy (ASCIA), and the Epilepsy Foundation.
Don’t be confused by the name, of course. Although our Advanced First Aid training is one of the most comprehensive courses on the market, it’s still suitable for a wide range of students of both varying ages and experience. No matter your background, HLTAID014 Provide Advanced First Aid will equip you to respond to many types of injuries, illnesses, and medical conditions.
The Australian government has set up the HLTAID014 training course. It is the industry standard for full, all-in-one training in first aid. The course covers the entire content provided in a standard first aid course (HLTAID011). In addition, it includes more course content, making it one of the most comprehensive first aid training packages available to the general public. The course consists of elements of both practical, hands-on skills and current first aid theory and includes topics such as:

The topics covered by HLTAID014 Provide Advanced First Aid are pretty varied. To complete the training, you’ll need to demonstrate both your understanding of the course theory and your grasp of the practical skills involved in first aid.

There are no preliminary qualifications required to participate in our HLTAID014 Provide Advanced First Aid course. However, there are a few limitations on who can attend.
The course is not available for primary school-aged participants. We require that our students be at least 14 years of age. Additionally, anyone under 18 will need a signed consent form from their guardian before attending class.
You’ll also need to complete pre-reading before the course commences; the time for this will vary depending on your prior knowledge. There is a test on the pre-reading before the hands-on training starts to ensure complete comprehension. The remainder of the course will build on this pre-knowledge.
Lastly, there is a significant physical aspect to this first aid training. To be certified, you’ll need to be able to do the following:
A USI is a Unique Student Identifier. USI’s have been a mandatory requirement for anyone taking a vocational training course since 2015. This applies not just to First Aid training but you will need to ensure that you have a USI before participating in training with us or any other RTO.
We cannot provide a USI to you and you will need to apply yourself on the government website. USI numbers are individual and life-long so if you forget yours, you can check it on the site too!

Completing the HLTAID014 course (and the various assessments involved) will provide you with the following nationally accredited training certificates:
These certificates are entirely in line with government standards and accepted nationwide in most roles that require first aid certification. If you find yourself tight on time (such as needing your paperwork for an imminent deadline), you’ll receive your certificate within 24 hours of completing the course. You can download and print them from our online portal.
You should be aware that this accreditation doesn’t last forever – you’ll need to keep it current like any first aid training. The current guidelines from the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) are that you should renew your First Aid training every three years to remain current. The exception is CPR training (HLTAID009 Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation), which requires a renewal every year!

The cost of participating in the entire Provide Advanced First Aid course, complete with all training materials and certificates, is only $189. At some times, this price can vary even lower with our daily deals. And, of course, if you find an equivalent course out there on the market for a lower price, we’ll match it!

Knowledge + Practical Assessment in class – no online or out-of-class assessment.
The conventional face-to-face course is a one-day seminar covering all course content and assessments (excluding the pre-reading). One of our highly qualified, personable trainers delivers the full-day course with plenty of opportunities for hands-on learning and questions.
Because the course covers so much material, trainers usually start precisely at the posted time – at which doors will be closed and locked. We strongly recommend that participants arrive 15 minutes early – latecomers may have to reschedule for another date.
There will be a pre-course quiz at the beginning of the training, allowing you to demonstrate what you learned from the pre-reading before the course. Doing the pre-reading is essential, as this content will be assumed knowledge throughout the training. The time required for the pre-reading will vary from person to person, but you should generally set aside 4-6 hours to work through the content.
Except for the pre-reading, all other course content – including all assessments – is included in the one 6 hour training seminar. And assuming you successfully complete all assessments, your certificates will be available from our online portal within 24 hours of course completion.
